Sorry to break it to you... but

Organic food is no healthier, study finds

Review of 162 studies over 50 years show no significant benefits

LONDON - Organic food has no nutritional or health benefits over ordinary food, according to a major study published Wednesday.

Researchers from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine said consumers were paying higher prices for organic food because of its perceived health benefits, creating a global organic market worth an estimated $48 billion in 2007.

A systematic review of 162 scientific papers published in the scientific literature over the last 50 years, however, found there was no significant difference.

"A small number of differences in nutrient content were found to exist between organically and conventionally produced foodstuffs, but these are unlikely to be of any public health relevance," said Alan Dangour, one of the report's authors.

"Our review indicates that there is currently no evidence to support the selection of organically over conventionally produced foods on the basis of nutritional superiority."

The results of research, which was commissioned by the British government's Food Standards Agency, were published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Sales of organic food have fallen in some markets, including Britain, as recession has led consumers to cut back on purchases.

The Soil Association said in April that growth in sales of organic products in Britain slowed to just 1.7 percent in 2008, well below the average annual growth rate of 26 percent over the last decade, following a plunge in demand at the end of the year.

rewind

It's been a while since I've actively updated my xanga.  Probably 2-3 years... All i can say is that time flies.  My routine is pretty much the following.

I wake up, I go to work, I come back home, it's about 8 PM - 10 PM by the time I get home, I sit down, occasionally hit up the gym, and then sleep. I haven't had TV for about 2 years... but now I can get about 2-3 channels from the digital signal so that actually suffices for now.  About 1-2 years ago, add in studying for the CPA, which sucked! Thank God I got that out of the way in the beg of the year.

So for those of you who don't know, the fam went to Taiwan to visit relatives about a month ago.  We definitely waived a lot of the "V" signs while visiting, {Peace!} I felt like a natural.

So someone said we looked like brothers? nah. i dont think so.

Kansas City random photo after the Wong family. ;)

this is that special dim sum place everyone goes to in LA, HK, taiwan, etc.. ding tai fung? or something like that.

alrights, on a busy season client right now, waiting 2 more weeks until i have a life.

Traffic Accident on I-55 North / South by Bloomington, IL

cident

My sister and I were heading from Chicago to Springfield, and we were right outside of Bloomington, IL by exit 167.  Out of the corner of my eye about 500 feet ahead of me, I see this minivan (Grey Toyota Sienna) start rolling upside down a few times into the grassy/dirt median in the middle of the highways.. I'm like this is crazy and knowing the good Samaritan law and out of shock, I pulled to the side, dialed 911, and then crosssed the 3 lanes of oncoming traffic to get to the downed upside down minivan.

Upon arriving, the driver (daugther?) had already crawled out and was in shock probably, (I think she was asian or mixed), and her brother was fine it seemed, but her dad was pinned upside down and took him a while to get out. The whole family was fine I believe because they had their seatbelts on.  Always wear your seatbelts!! By the time I left, talked to the Police, etc, I think they were fine... I really hope so. but thank God!  It was definitely a scary experience for them and just witnessing it was crazy.

Not sure where they are from but the girl had a "Gilmore" t-shirt on.  Is gilmore in illinois? ok everyone drive safely.
